ABOUT MY WORK
Contemplative Care As a Board-Certified, professional Chaplain (BCC), I offer contemplative care utilizing clinical methods of assessment and treatment. Contemplative care integrates the meaning of transitions in terms of what you value. This process of making meaning as the experience and expression of your personal spirituality empowers you to make choices in all aspects of your life based on these values. It promotes emotional, psychological, and spiritual well being. I also am trained in and offer complementary techniques for listening and speaking from the heart including Attuned Breath Centering (ABC), Non-Violent Communication (NVC) and Voice Dialogue . I have worked in many institutions including: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Beth Israel Medical Center, and Housing Works Adult Day Treatment Center (for persons with HIV/AIDS), all in New York City. Mindfulness Meditation
As a Zen priest, I offer support for integrating this form of meditation, rooted in Zen Buddhist practice, as an option available to anyone. Zen emphasizes direct experience as the means to transform obstacles and reveal your true self. Healing Play Playing with imagination awakens the sleeping beauty in each of us. it is a vital aspect of who we are. As an expressive artist, I naturally integrate play in this work with music, imagery, storytelling, and other forms of creative expression. To learn more about this process, please visit my related website, Sensing Wonder. Please feel free to read my credentials and learn more about my services. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that life is amazing, sometimes quite difficult, and at the same time, mysteriously wonderous. Healing is a practice of moving through difficulties to discover what matters most. This discovery opens the door to sensing wonder. Right here. Right now.
